Russia and Ukraine attacked virus-extortionist Petya

More than 80 Russian and Ukrainian companies have suffered from hacking attacks using virus-ransomware called Petya.A. It is reported by RNS with reference to the head of the forensic laboratory of Group-IB Valeria Baulina.

The expert stressed that the attack is not associated with the virus WannaCry, which informed affected users around the world.

The virus locks computers, demanding $ 300 in bitcoins. In Group-IB said that to stop the spread of Petya.A need to close TCP ports 1024-1035, 135 and 445.

It is known that the attack was subjected to network “Rosneft”, “Bashneft”, Oschadbank, Avon, Mondelēz International, Ukrainian “Dniproenergo” and “zaporizhzhyaoblenergo”. Presumably the same hacker attack suffered by the airport “Boryspil” Ukrainian operators Kyivstar, LifeCell, Ukrtelecom, government computers in Ukraine.
