Poroshenko said about the relationship with the Crimean Tatars to return to Crimea


President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko made in an address on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Crimean Tatar flag. The text of the appeal published on the official website of the Ukrainian head.

He noted that on this day in 1991, resumed the work of the Kurultay of the Crimean Tatar people, after the Crimean Tatars began to return to the historical land of deportation “demonstrating to the world the invincibility of the spirit.”

Poroshenko also noted that the Crimean Tatar flag “became an integral symbol of unity, continuity of generations and centuries-old struggle of Crimean Tatars for their freedom”.

According to Poroshenko, Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars have in common “a common homeland, a common goal – the return of the temporarily annexed Crimea enemy”.

He expressed confidence that soon the flags of Ukraine and Crimean Tatar flag “will fly proudly in a free Ukrainian Crimea.”
