Poroshenko called “Nord stream-2,” emergency threat and revenge Ukraine

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko called the pipeline “Nord stream” one of the main threats to their country. According to him, the construction of a branch Moscow wants to avenge the decision of the Stockholm arbitration, which took the side of “Naftogaz” in dispute with “Gazprom”.

“Nord stream-2” is not an energy or economic goal, first and foremost, this is an emergency threat to the existence of Ukraine, said Poroshenko in an interview zn.ua

According to him, the project aims to deprive Ukraine of $ 2 billion for transit of Russian gas. “This is revenge for Stockholm, it was revenge for drastic anti-corruption reforms,” – said the Ukrainian President.

Recall the construction of the “Nord stream-2” to begin in 2018 and be completed in 2019. Its length will be 1220 kilometres, with a throughput capacity of 55 billion cubic meters per year.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman at the beginning of June said that Kyiv will do everything possible to prevent construction of the pipeline, which, in his words, “threatens the national security of Ukraine”.
