The HiRISE camera installed on Board the spacecraft Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter launched to Mars Aug 12, 2005. The creators of three-minute video to remind you that during the time that the MRO has spent on Mars, he made more than 50 thousand revs, has made more than 250 thousand images and, in General, brought together about 300 terabits of information. One of the main objectives of the mission is to create detailed maps of the Martian landscape. One of the main objectives of the mission is to create detailed maps of the Martian landscape — it is not only necessary in order to answer many questions about the past and present of the red planet, but also allows you to choose the best point for landing of reentry research vehicles.

Watch the video on:
“The beauty of Mars was shown on the video: you can live”

At the time of publication of this message the video has already gained more than 60 thousand views, and this number continues to grow quite rapidly. It is worth noting that the movie was nearly a month ago, but recently it drew the attention of many Internet users.

The authors of the video say that the color in the picture does not always correspond to those that would see the man, if he were on Mars. This is due to the fact that the HiRISE camera can “see” in a somewhat different spectrum compared with the human eye. In practice, it is rather an advantage than a disadvantage — that with such characteristics of the camera, scientists are the easiest to recognize features of the Martian terrain and to see what breed is presented on a particular portion of the surface of the red planet.

In recent years have increasingly voiced the idea that Mars should be colonized. In particular, recently, this independently from each other called physicist Stephen Hawking and entrepreneur Elon Musk.
