The Ukrainian leader said that he discussed with the US and EU position on the construction by Russia of a “politically motivated” energy project “Nord stream-2”. The politician told this to reporters in Brussels, RIA Novosti reported.

This Poroshenko called the pipeline tool “Russian energy aggression,” which is directed not only against Ukraine, but against the whole of the European Union.

Note that yesterday the President of Russia Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the head of Royal Dutch Shell Ben van Bearden said that “Nord stream-2” is a commercial project which has all chances for success. The head of state urged not to look in his construction of a political motive.

Earlier, the Ukrainian “Naftogaz” has urged the United States to impose sanctions against all countries and companies involved in the project “Northern stream-2”. Experts explain the attempt of Kiev to prevent the construction of a pipeline from Russia to Western Europe’s unwillingness to take the position as the monopoly gas transit to Europe.

“In the year Kyiv gets $2 billion for transit. The preservation of this status allows to blackmail to get the help from Europe and create risks of Russia”, – said the “MK” the Deputy Director of the national energy security Fund gas projects Alexei Grivach.
