Le Drian: France is not seeking to isolate Russia from Europe

In France, there is no purpose to isolate Russia from Europe, as there is no purpose to weaken Moscow economically and financially, said after talks with Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, foreign Minister of France Jean-Yves Le Drian.

Le Drian said it is the intention of Paris “concrete and pragmatic” to work on resolving issues that will hit the interests of both countries. Security interests, in his view, France and Russia should promote mutual efforts.

Le Drian headed the French foreign Ministry in may 2017 if Prime Minister Edouard Philippe. Before that for five years he was Minister of defense.
