U.S. and Ukraine prepare for the observation flight over Russia

The Ministry of defense of Russia announced the conduct of the observation flight by foreign inspectors on the territory of our country under the open skies Treaty. The defense Ministry reported that the monitoring will be conducted jointly by the US pilots and Ukraine.

The Russian defense Ministry said that to control the conduct of observation flights on Board a foreign aircraft will be experts from Russia.

“In the framework of the implementation of the international Treaty on open skies during the period from 19 to 24 June there will be a joint observation flight, States and Ukraine over the territory of the Russian Federation”, – said the head of the Russian national Centre for reducing nuclear danger Sergey Ryzhkov.

According to him, the mission will be carried out with the help of an American aircraft observations OS-135Б. The takeoff will be made with the New airport in the city of Khabarovsk.

The Russian defense Ministry said that the flight will take place on the agreed route.

“On Board an American aircraft during the flight will be Russian experts to monitor the strict observance of the parameters of the mission and application of the Treaty of surveillance equipment”, – reported in the Ministry.

“The plane and set it on cameras passed the necessary international certification, with the involvement of including Russian experts, which excludes the use of technical means, not covered by the contract”, – stated in the message of the Russian military.
