Sources in Parliament said that the bill on “reintegration of the occupied territories of Donbass” may come to Parliament this week when the Ukrainian leader will be on official visit in the United States.
According to sources, the authorities intend to demonstrate the “breakaway regions” the advantage of being a part of Ukraine. So, for controlled Kyiv regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions provides for “a range of benefits and privileges”.
In addition, residents of Donbas will be able to receive Ukrainian pensions, as well as to freer trade. The authors of the plan also aim to remove restrictions on the weight of goods transported through conditional border between the breakaway republics and the rest of Ukraine.
According to sources of the newspaper, instead of “anti-terrorist operation” in the border areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions want to impose martial law. Under the provision can go Mariupol, Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, Avdiivka and Marinka.
The introduction of martial law in fact means transfer of territory management from the security Service of Ukraine to the army, which, according to someone close to the administration of the President of the interlocutor, “will more quickly and effectively implement the defense and evacuation operations, if the need arises”.
According to the experts, the new surge of interest of Kiev to Donbass can be explained by foreign interests.
