First Deputy Chairman of Committee of the Federation Council international Affairs Vladimir Jabbarov said that the destruction of a Syrian su-22 of the US-led coalition may lead to the “big conflict”. The Senator recalled that the Syrian skies closed like the s-300 army of Bashar al-Assad, and the Russian s-400.
Jabbarov called as soon as possible to arrange a meeting of diplomats of interested parties to discuss the incident with the downed fighter jet of the Syrian air force. The Senator did not rule out that the destruction of the aircraft could lead to retaliatory strikes by the defense army of Bashar al-Assad.
“So to shoot down an aircraft is unacceptable — you will get retaliation. There are s-300 Syrian army, our s-400 stand, so all of this can lead to greater conflict”, — said the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee during the meeting with RT.
In turn, the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Franz Klintsevich believes that the destruction of a Syrian su-22 is a provocation against Russia. “It is clear that no defense there is no question. Blatant aggression and provocation. Provoke and, above all, Russia”, — quotes the parliamentarian RIA Novosti.
On Sunday evening, Syria’s military command said that the international coalition led by the US shot down a military plane of Damascus, in the southern part of Raqqa. Syrian authorities said that during the incident, the fighter participated in the operation against the terrorist group “Islamic state” (banned in Russia).
The US-led international coalition in turn claimed that the su-22 was shot down after he dropped the bomb beside the soldiers of the opposition “Forces of democratic Syria” to the South of the city Tabka, 40 kilometres from Raqqa.
As previously reported by Reuters, right after the incident in Syria the U.S.-led coalition has contacted the Russian army on the phone “through the channel by reducing the level of conflict to de-escalate the situation and stop the attack.” The coalition also noted that he did not seek conflict with the Syrian regime, or the Russian support of the regime forces, but “will not be kalibata” to protect partners from any threat.
