Member Committee on national security and defence Dmitry Tymchuk explained the essence of the bill on the reintegration of Donbass in the Ukraine, providing for the termination of “anti-terrorist operation” in the South-East of the country. According to him, this paper actually means the transition to a “military operation” under the leadership of the President.
“It is proposed to replace the NSS? In fact – military operation, not led by SBU (as it is now, in ATO mode), and operational headquarters”, — wrote the MP in Facebook.
Tymchuk said that to lead this staff will be the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko as Supreme commander. The Ukrainian leader will be able to solve the issues of the use of forces and means of the APU in operation and to involve other law enforcement agencies, but under the General supervision of the military.
According to the Deputy, the law will not be a waiver of the Minsk agreements and would “breathe life into them”.
