After analyzing the information about 33 thousand men and 30 thousand women aged 45 to 83 years, scientists have come to the conclusion that the greatest chance of becoming centenarians are people who eat right, not smoke, in very moderate amounts alcohol and pay enough attention to maintaining good physical shape.

While Smoking experts urge to opt out completely, a certain amount of alcohol is “harmless”, they still recognize, but we are talking about really small amounts — the allowed amount of alcohol in a week, according to experts, roughly equivalent to the amount of ethanol contained in 30 grams of vodka.

Exercise experts suggest to devote at least 150 minutes a week. As for diet, it must be designed in such a way that people fully receive all the necessary vitamins and nutrients.

Men who lived in accordance with all the above criteria had a chance to live on average four years longer than the other, and for women this difference is nearly five years.

The study was published in the Journal of Internal Medicine.

Scientific works, the authors come to the conclusion about the dangers of Smoking, alcohol, poor diet and a sedentary lifestyle are published quite often, but usually the authors of such studies focus on any one of these aspects, and not trying to “cover” all the time.
