The Brussels court withdrew the arrest of Russian property in the Yukos case

The court of Brussels has removed all arrests of property of Russian companies in Belgium under the claim of the former shareholders of Yukos. As the head of the International centre for the legal protection of Andrey Kondakov, the court’s decision touched on including assets, news agencies RIA Novosti and TASS.

The claim of the former shareholders of Yukos to Russia was satisfied by the arbitration court in the Hague in July 2014, Russia ordered to pay 50 billion dollars. Moscow challenged the court’s decision, however, the former shareholders of the company appealed to the courts of several countries demanding the arrest of the property. Later, the authorities of Belgium and France seized the property, which is considered Russian.
