Decided to replace the national anthem the deputies of the liberal democratic party proposed to move on the Julian calendar

Three deputies of LDPR in the state Duma introduced a bill offering to enter instead of the Gregorian calendar to the Julian calendar. In Russia it is called the old style. It is understood that the law, if adopted, will come into force in 2019.

The document contains historical information. “As indicated by scientists, the Gregorian calendar is not perfect: it does not account for the slowing of Earth’s rotation, lengthening the day length is”, is given in the explanatory note one of the arguments in favor of the transition on the Julian calendar.

“The Julian calendar is important as a national, centuries-old historical and cultural traditions, disrupted adopted in 1918 by the Decree on the Gregorian calendar,” added the authors.

The same deputies earlier in the Duma introduced a bill to replace the state Russian national anthem “God save the Tsar!”.
