Trump did not say NATO is about collective defence


According to the magazine Politico, speaking on may 25, a speech at the headquarters of NATO in Brussels, U.S. President Donald trump has decided to change the text of the speech, eliminating from it all that concerned the United States plans to adhere to the principle of collective defence of the Alliance.

“The US President Donald trump has disappointed and surprised the Secretary of state Rex Tillerson, the head of the Pentagon James Mattis and the Deputy national security General Herbert McMaster, decided to exclude from his speech mention of the United States ‘intention to respect the principle of collective defence in NATO”, – stated in the message.
