Putin proposed to introduce an oath of citizenship of Russia


The President of Russia Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the head of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin proposed to adopt the experience of some countries, when a person swears or says the oath of citizenship. He also responded positively to the amendments to the law that give the opportunity to cancel the decision on assignment of citizenship in case of conviction of a citizen for terrorism.

The head of state noted in particular that in Russia say the oath, when people come into the army. But other countries have experience when given a vow, oath or other solemn act by which man confirms his intention to become a citizen and abide by the laws and traditions of this country.

“Here, too, one would think and take the experience of some foreign States,” leads “Interfax” the words of Putin.

He asked the speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, together with the deputies to think on this topic.

The report also says that the Russian leader supported the proposal to amend the law that will cancel the decision on the granting of citizenship in case of conviction of a citizen for terrorism.

Putin noted that, in General, shared this initiative and it is unexpected for him is not as he has already discussed this issue with Volodin. The President stressed that more is required “to consult with the Constitutional court.”

Volodin in response told Putin that all factions are United in the fact that such amendments are necessary.

Recall that in the US mandatory element of citizenship is an oath. It gives you assures that renounce “allegiance and fidelity” to any foreign Prince, government or state of which was before and is committed to protecting the United States from all enemies foreign and domestic including with arms in hands.
