Zakharov considered a coward for refusing Finnish journalist to go to Chechnya

The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told about the refusal of the Finnish journalist interested in the topic of gays in Chechnya to go to the Caucasus region. According to Zakharova, the reporter came to the foreign Ministry to receive assistance on the trip, but did not pursue it to the end.

“Honestly, I was better opinion of him. With me he spoke determined and creative spirit… But he was banned from the editors, and he gave up… Not sure how this qualifies in Finland, in Russian it is called “coward,” wrote Zakharova in Facebook.

She reported that the editors explained their decision: the officials comprising the programme of the visit of a journalist in the region, would not allow him to move freely and communicate with people. “It’s really very, very, very funny! First, in Chechnya independently by a Finnish journalist was not going to our invitations… second, searching for answers to their questions, he came to the official authorities”, – commented on this motivation, the representative of the foreign Ministry.

“In a word, catching the pokemon by Western journalists continues,” – concluded Zakharov.
