Putin told Oliver stone about Snowden: he is not a traitor


In the Internet there is an excerpt of an interview of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s well-known Director Oliver stone, he gave the new project the American filmmaker. In this story the author asked the President about a former employee of the national security Agency (NSA), USA Edward Snowden.

“Snowden is not a traitor, he betrayed the interests of his country and not handed over to another country information that would be damaging to his people,” – said the head of state, adding that Snowden does everything publicly.

Meanwhile, Putin noted that he does not agree with the actions of the former agent of U.S. intelligence. According to him, if Snowden is something not liked in the work of the NSA — he just had to quit.

“But he went on, that’s his right,” – said the head of state .

Putin also added that the NSA had indeed gone too far in the matter of surveillance of citizens, while Russian security services are working “within the law and do it well”.
