She successfully hit the target, which, in turn, was launched from the Kwajalein Atoll (Marshall Islands) at a distance of about 7500 miles.

As stated in an interview with NBC News, the Director of the missile defense Agency, U.S. Vice Admiral Jim Fife, the tests showed “an important event, demonstrating reliability in the reflection of a real threat.”

It is also noted that the exercise was conducted in response to another launch of a ballistic missile in North Korea, and the interceptor missile itself represents the last line of defense against ballistic missiles.

On Monday, Pyongyang launched another missile launch. Japanese authorities have declared that she fell in the area of their exclusive economic zone.
