Dodon: relations of Moldova and Russia came to the brink

The President of Moldova Igor Dodon said that in 25 years of diplomatic relations of his country with Russia, they have never been on the brink as it is now. Thus he commented on the exchange of diplomats – first, Moldova has sent five Russians, then so did Russia.

Dodon, who immediately condemned the decision of the Moldovan government to expel Russian diplomats expressed hope that Russia will be limited to diplomatic measures and not impose sanctions of an economic and social nature.

He accused the parliamentary majority and the government of Moldova of irresponsibility. If they continue to escalate tension in relations with the Russian Federation, Igor Dodon promised that “His word shall we say, the people of the Republic of Moldova”.
