Macron Putin promised new sanctions in case of de-escalation in Ukraine

The President of France Emmanuel macron said that if there is an escalation in Ukraine, it will be necessary to strengthen sanctions (against Russia – ed.).

The announcement came at a press conference after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“If there is de-escalation, it will not. And I wish that were the de-escalation”, – added macron.

Putin, in turn, answering the journalists ‘ questions on sanctions, said that they “will not help” normalization of crisis in the South-East of Ukraine.

“Therefore, I appeal to you, and to the media of France: fight for the abolition of all restrictions in the global economy”, – Putin said.
