Former adviser to the adviser of US President Jimmy Carter on national security, an influential American political scientist and veteran of geopolitics, Zbigniew Brzezinski, has died in 90-m to year of life. The author of the famous “great chess Board”, stated the necessity of American influence in the former Soviet Union, many spoke about the role of USA and Russia in the world and criticized the Russian political elite.
“You have examined, whose elite is — yours or ours already,” the widely publicized statement about the Russian elite, which is usually attributed to Brzezinski (quoted by forbes.kz). The analyst, in his characteristic manner said he did not believe in Russia’s use of nuclear potential, as in the accounts of American banks are major money Russians.
Russia, he is considered a power that challenged the US and losing her “Titanic struggle”, while considering the country as a successor to the Soviet Union. One of the “hawks” of American politics, Brzezinski believed the purpose of Washington to control what he called “great power” aspirations of Russia.
In an interview with “Voice of America” in 2012, Brzezinski said that the US no longer considers Russia as an enemy. Condition for the prosperity of Russia, he considered it inevitable, in his opinion, the rapprochement with the West, and democratization.
Being a member of the set of closed political clubs, Brzezinski analyzed the geopolitical processes in recent years. American political scientist praised the “heroic people of the Maidan.” “What you do is vital from the point of view of history. This is something that accentuates your national identity,” he said, turning to him.
However, not long ago, Brzezinski managed to disappoint and Ukrainian nationalists, in an interview with the Polish newspaper “Gazeta Wyborcza” proposing to resolve the “Crimean issue” division of the Peninsula into three parts. On them he came up to settle the main peoples of Crimea – Russians, Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians. To solve the problem of the transfer of the Peninsula of Crimea are Ukraine or Russia, he believed impossible.
During the presidency of bill Clinton, Brzezinski was the author of the concept of NATO expansion to the East. He sharply criticized the policies of George W. Bush and was one of those who supported the nomination of Senator Barack Obama for U.S. President.
Subsequently, however, the veteran American foreign policy was somewhat disappointed in trump. Two months ago in interview “to the Newspaper.ru” it is said that trump is acting not as President but as a political showman.
