The foreign Ministry rebuked the supporters of the analogue of “Magnitsky act” the government of Canada in “isolation”

The government of Canada is mutually beneficial cooperation in the economic sphere and in terms of development of the Arctic prefer to “isolate themselves” from Russia. Thus, the Russian foreign Ministry commented on the support that the canadian government expressed its version of the American “Magnitsky act”.

The Russian foreign Ministry believe that this sanctions the Russian law present a far-fetched claim. If the canadian Parliament will approve this law, relations between Russia and Canada will suffer significant damage, said in a statement the Russian foreign Ministry.

Earlier, foreign Minister Canada Chrystia Freeland said that the government supports the expansion of the boundaries of the application of sanctions for corruption and violation of human rights.

In the United States in 2012 adopted the “Magnitsky act”, named for the deceased prisoner of auditor Sergei Magnitsky. They introduced sanctions against those suspected of involvement in Magnitsky’s death.
