The President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, who is considered Pro-Russian politician, has appealed to Brussels with a call to freeze the allocation of Chisinau with financial assistance in the amount of 100 million euros. He declared it in interview “Radio Freedom”.
The President of Moldova said that only welcomes the EU decision to postpone for a month a vote on the release of tranches of Chisinau.
Dodon said that Moldova will receive significant support from foreign partners and wants to thank them for that.
“But very often it was the geopolitical support, not designed to improve the lives of citizens, and designed to keep in power some corrupt, oligarchic governments,” he said.
On 16 may, the EU decided to postpone for a month the allocation of assistance to Moldova in connection with the concern about the political situation in the country.
In the beginning, the European Commission gave approval for the allocation of Moldova 100 million euros in grants and loans in the framework of macroeconomic aid.
