On Thursday the house of representatives of the U.S. Congress approved a bill providing for the introduction of new restrictive measures against the DPRK, as well as trading partners of North Korea. The document obliges the U.S. President each year for five years to provide to Congress a report on ports and airports, where sanctions against North Korea can be broken.
The list of potential countries, whose marine and air port will be taken to the control of the United States, Russia, China, Iran and Syria.
As for Russia, the close attention of American partners will be given to the ports of Nakhodka, Vanino and Vladivostok.
“The head of state within 180 days after the entry into force of the law, and then annually for five years is required to provide a report on ports and airports, which violate the resolutions of the UN security Council against North Korea… Every such report… shall contain specific findings on the following ports and airports: port of Nakhodka, Vanino and Vladivostok in the Russian Federation, ports of Tartus and Latakia in Syria, the ports of China and Turkey”, – stated in the bill, which is quoted by TASS.
In addition, the document gives the right of compulsory inspection on the territory of the United States of goods carried by ships or transport aircraft arriving from areas “where regularly allowed violations of the resolutions of the UN Security Council”.
Among the “suspects” will automatically get all the court, during the last 365 days docked at the national Maritime or air space of North Korea, and is also registered in countries with weak customs control.
Note that for the adoption of the bill voted 419 of the congressmen were against only one. Now the document will go for approval to the Senate. And then, if senators approve it, the signature of the President of the United States.
