According to “Kommersant”, citing informed sources in Moscow and Kiev, during a telephone conversation, which took place at the initiative of the Ukrainian side and lasted about 20 minutes, Putin and Poroshenko had to joke, not to quarrel.

As told the interlocutor of the edition in Moscow, the conversation between the leaders of Russia and Ukraine took place in a “respectful business the correct way”, and the heads of state are periodically “switched to playfully ironic tone,” not to tell each other sharps.

However, to any specific agreements Putin and Poroshenko come and failed and the only thing able to move was “certain humanitarian issues”.

According to a source in Kiev, close to surrounded by Poroshenko, it was about the exchange of prisoners, the supply in the Donbass food, water and electricity, and on payment by the Ukrainian authorities of pensions to residents of the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk national republics.

This Poroshenko allegedly warned Putin that if the leadership of the DNI and LC will not pay debts for received electricity, then Ukraine will cease supply as eventually happened.

As notes the edition, Putin and Poroshenko always communicate in a secret mode and this time the parties also did not bring the conversation public and publicly acknowledge this fact so as not to give the opponents of Poroshenko have reasons to accuse him of “unpatriotic behavior” and dialogue with “the leader of the country-aggressor”.
