Died poet and veteran of the great Patriotic war ion Degen


Well-known Russian, Soviet and Israeli poet, recognized the tank as the great Patriotic war ion Degen died in Israel on 92-m to year of life. It is reported TASS with reference to the Israeli Union of veterans of the Second world war — the fighters against Nazism. According to the Chairman of the Union of Abraham Grinzaid, Degen was very ill.

Degen is the author of the poem “My friend, in mortal agony”. In the war he volunteered in July 1941, when he was 16 years old. In October 1942 Degen wounded during a reconnaissance in the enemy rear. He participated in the Belarusian offensive operation. He was seriously wounded in January 1945. During the great Patriotic war Degen destroyed 12 German tanks, 6 self-propelled guns of the enemy.
