Brazilian MPs were banned from performing in “inappropriate clothing”

The Chairman of the lower house of the Parliament of Brazil Rodrigo Maya forbade the deputies to act in inappropriate clothes from the podium. The announcement was made after an MP from the opposition Communist party of assis Melo donned the costume of the Brazilian working – white gown, gloves, and boots to Express solidarity with the workers. The speaker refused to grant him the floor.

“If you speak in plenary, you must be dressed in accordance with the traditions of this chamber,” said Maya in the meeting.
