Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that his country expects to cooperate with Russia on the situation on the Korean Peninsula and in Syria.

“I want to hold a Frank exchange of opinions on such urgent problems as tensions on the Korean Peninsula, the situation in Syria and other international issues, and to communicate their decisions… I would like to advance in the negotiations on the conclusion of a peace Treaty and… a major step forward in the joint economic activities on the four Northern Islands,” said Abe to reporters before flying to Russia, where he will meet with Vladimir Putin.
