Use white wine even in the amount of three glasses per week significantly increases women’s risk of problems with the skin – this is the conclusion reached by scientists investigating the health of several tens of thousands of women for 15 years. According to researchers, ladies who give preference to the alcoholic beverage and liquor, often suffer from disease, rosacea, characterized by redness and lesions on the skin.
The results of the study were published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, indicates the Daily Mail. Dermatologists of brown University tracked the health of 83 thousand American women who were observed between 1991 and 2005. The conclusions were very interesting: almost five thousand of them suffered from rosacea.
After statistical analysis, researchers found that only three glasses of white wine a week increase the risk of this disease by 14%. And five glasses – about one bottle – or more – as much as 49%.
The explanation of this relationship, according to scientists, is that white wine weakens the immune system, dilates blood vessels, which in turn leads to skin problems. In addition, white wine, unlike red, do not contain substances with anti-inflammatory action.
