Peskov commented on the reports about a possible “Putin’s successor”

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov has responded to the reports that the speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin will supposedly be the successor of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

“Of course, there’s no item to check. Moreover, the President quite clearly reacted to this story. Here can scarcely be a field for discussions and misunderstandings. Everything is very clear,” said the speaker of the Kremlin.

Earlier, Putin said that only the Russian people can choose a successor to head of state.
