The proposal of Russia and Iran to investigate the incident with the alleged use of chemical weapons in the Syrian Idlib rejected by the majority of votes in the Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons (OPCW). Was filed on 21 votes against and six in favor, 13 abstained.
Russia and Iran offered to establish an independent Commission to investigate. As stated in the British delegation to the OPCW, the proposal was intended to “disrupt the work of the mission fact-finding”.
The Russian defense Ministry earlier criticized the OPCW, the head of which, with reference to research stated about the alleged evidence of the presence of sarinopoulos substances have affected.
