The EBU confirmed the non-participation of Russia in “Eurovision 2017”

The European broadcasting Union (EBU) in response to the failure of the “First channel” broadcast “Eurovision 2017” expressed regret that Russia this year will not participate in the competition.

“We really want all 43 countries had the opportunity to take part in the competition, and we’ve done everything we can to achieve this”, – quotes Lenta.ru EBU review on the decision of the First channel. In the organization confirmed the non-participation of Russia.

The channel is not adopted both proposed options: replace member Julia Samoylova or act remotely. The refusal to broadcast “Eurovision 2017” channel announced, after notice to the EBU, it was reported that to persuade the Ukrainian authorities to allow the country Samoylova failed.

We will remind, the Ukrainian authorities have banned Samoilova entry into the country due to the fact that the singer in 2015, made in the Crimea. Kiev saw in that trip a violation of the state border.
