The Kremlin believes that to accept the decision of the European court of human rights (ECHR) in the case of “tagayeva and others V. Russia” is impossible. As it became known on 13 April, the ECHR ruled in favor of lawsuits filed in 2008-2011 Russians, obliging the state to pay the applicants 2,955 million euros. Compensation was demanded by 447 people.

The resolution of the ECHR says that Russia has not taken sufficient measures to prevent a terrorist attack and minimize casualties among the hostages, and failed to conduct an objective investigation of the terrorist act in Beslan school No. 1 in 2004. killed 334 people, including 318 of them hostages, of which 186 were children.

“These formulations, purely hypothetical speculations, but they are hardly acceptable,” – said on this occasion Sands. When asked whether Russia to implement the decision of the ECHR, a Kremlin spokesman said that his country would take “all legal action” over this decision.

We will remind that by the decision of the constitutional court of Russia from December 2015 can not be executed ECHR judgments that contravene with the Constitution of the Russian Federation and its interests.

April 12, the state Duma ratified the Protocol to the European Convention on human rights, which points to the subsidiary role of the ECHR on national legal systems.
