MEPs have decided to block the visa-free regime for Ukraine

Three members of the political force “Europe for freedom and democracy” in the European Parliament opposed the introduction of a visa-free regime for Ukrainians, thus putting the abolition of visas for travel to EU countries under question, reports “UKRINFORM”.

MPs and eurosceptics from Germany, the UK and Sweden introduced an amendment blocking visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens. However, the majority of European deputies still are more optimistic and advocate for the abolition of visas for Ukraine.

This question tabled on 5 April, after which the next day will vote on the amendment.

Earlier, the head of the EU delegation in Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli expressed hope that the visa-free regime for Ukrainians may come into force before the end of June 2017.
