The staff of the Executive office of the President of the United States Donald trump will not be present at the annual evening, which is organized by the Association of correspondents accredited to the White house, in solidarity with the President. This was reported by the Washington newspaper Politico.
“The white house has informed the Association of reporters at the White house, Executive office of the President of the United States will not attend the reception this year of solidarity with President trump, who had earlier announced his intention to skip the event,” the newspaper quoted Association President Jeff Mason.
He also noted that the leadership of the Association regretted the decision by the White house, and added that in spite of what the evening would have been glad to see the President trump and Vice President Michael Penny and other staff in the administration of the current President.
In February Donald trump has announced that he will not attend the spring gala of the Association of reporters at the White house, which is scheduled for April 29. He explained his decision as a rejection of the fact that the vast majority of journalists are posting about this false information. Trump became the first in 36 years as the head of state did not accept the invitation of the Association.
Association of journalists at the White house was created in 1914. Six years later began the tradition of holding an annual special dinners. They usually represent social events with the participation of a large number of celebrities. At these dinners traditionally present are the presidents of the United States.
