Actions trump already show the contours of his future foreign policy

Donald trump and his team increasingly intercept the controls from leaving the White house team. His steps and words in the status of the elected President have to influence events in the international arena. The key question is which country will become the main target of US pressure during the presidency of trump. And candidate is already looming.

Elected President of the United States Donald trump is increasingly included in the course of the Affairs of the United States, including foreign policy. Multiply news about its international contacts and the statements made on the basis of which to build assumptions and projections about its future policy on a post of the head of the United States.

“Activity Donald trump has been accompanied by a large and openly manifested by anxiety of Europe about what impact his policies on defence and security policy of the Old world”

The available information is sufficient to expect a large-scale change of course superpower compared to the previous period.

Trump during a public speech on 1 December confirmed one of the key points of his campaign: the United States will forego overthrow the regimes. He argued it objectively urgent need to focus on domestic issues of America, and not throw huge resources for achievement of the doubtful purposes in different parts of the world.

However, in fairness it should be noted: recent years have shown that it is successfully operated in 2000-ies the practice now began to give large-scale failures and to bring States more problems than benefits. So it is possible that a pragmatist trump in this case sees just a convenient way to get rid of ceased to be effective “business tool” of US foreign policy.

Another significant statement was a confirmation of the willingness of trump as President to cooperate with any forces in the fight against ISIL*. It’s doubtful he really meant any force, but this really is another significant indication of the likelihood of reducing tensions with Russia.

In parallel, over the past two weeks, Donald trump has carried out a large number of telephone conversations with world leaders, and a list of his contacts and comments after the fact on talks aroused great excitement in the establishment on both sides of the Atlantic.

He complimentary said about communicating with the President of Russia and pointedly unceremoniously communicated with the Prime Minister of great Britain Teresa may, saying: “Will in the U.S., let me know”. He called the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif “a terrific guy” and reiterated the US readiness to support the country in addressing its problems. Also, trump had a telephone conversation with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, and The New York Times mentions Express their admiration in the address is too long in power “one of the despots”. Meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and is held in the personal residence of the elected President in the presence of family members trump.

This activity Donald trump has been accompanied by a large and openly manifested by anxiety of Europe about what impact his policies on defence and security policy of the Old world. This is especially true that during election campaign he promised to reduce American involvement, including financial, NATO and military programs in Europe. Particularly active in this regard are, of course, the Baltic republics in the face of “Russian threat.” However, the EU as a whole is also quite a serious nervous, because “the Europeans are afraid that trump will begin to implement some of his campaign setting.”

Part of the answer has been given.

For the post of Minister of defence Donald trump intends to appoint retired General James Mattis like the nickname Mad Dog. He is known for his tough hawkish stance against all rivals and competitors in the United States, including Russia, as well as talent not to go with words. Among his famous sayings is this: “I beg you – do not put us spoke in the wheel. Because if you do, then those who survive will write about what we’ve done, even 10 thousand years.”

At the same time, though, Mattis is known for his tough anti-Russian stance, the main object of his geopolitical hatred is considered to be Iran.

This coincides with the latest news from the team of trump, in which there are movements to shift the main vector of the pressure of the United States with Russia on Iran. In any case, it is difficult otherwise to interpret the intentions of future administrations to “correct” a nuclear deal with Iran.

It seems that Iran is also preparing for a new round of confrontation with the United States in the light of the just extended for another ten years of sanctions against him, what he sees the violation of a prisoner nuclear deal.

Of course, much say who will be appointed by the Secretary of state of the United States. Not accidentally, such a strong negative reaction to the name MITT Romney in this regard. However, it seems these fears are not justified, and it will be less “allergenic” figure.

Anyway, at the moment there are some grounds for cautious optimism. Not because trump our countries will become friends, but because in these times even a reduction in the severity and ferocity of the confrontation is good news.
