Roscosmos will not deliver the Soyuz rocket of the French company Arianespace until then, until it receives € 300 million, blocked by the local court in the Yukos case. In Roskosmos said that the Corporation can’t work for free.
“We do not get the money that Arianespace will have to pay for our work. No money – no product. We can’t work for free. Therefore, we will not put”, – quotes the newspaper Les Echos the company’s statement.
We are talking about 300 million euros Arianespace was to pay Roscosmos for launching satellites with the help of the carrier rocket “Soyuz”. These funds were frozen by decision of the Hague court, which ordered Russia to pay 50 billion to former Yukos shareholders.
Previously, the General Director of the Russian state Corporation Igor Komarov has written to French Prime Minister Manuel Valls a letter in which he stated that “Roskosmos” may apply to the arbitration court of France, if you do not receive the amount due.
The failure of the Russian space Agency from the supply of rockets “Soyuz-ST” for Arianespace could derail the project to create a European navigation system Galileo. As stated by RIA Novosti correspondent member of Russian Academy of cosmonautics named after Tsiolkovsky Andrew, son of Jonas, satellites can also be put into orbit by a European rocket Arian, but its development will take several more years.
The total cost of the navigation project, Galileo, which will provide Europeans independence from the American GPS and Russian GLONASS, is about 7 billion euros. It is planned that by 2020, the orbit should be withdrawn 30 satellites of the Galileo constellation. The launch of the Russian “Soyuz-ST” from Kourou in French Guiana costs € 65-70 million.
