Contrary to popular belief, not all predatory dinosaurs were animals a lone. To such conclusion experts of the University of Alberta after studying previously discovered the remains of avimimus, ancient birdlike lizards the hunters. According to researchers, these ancient animals lived and died a single flock, and in life they were not alien to social interaction.
Bones of ancient animals, Dating from the Cretaceous period, was discovered in Mongolia about a decade ago. Studying their location, the scientists concluded that dinosaurs were close to each other when they were attacked by other predators and killed a group of animals. This implies that alimony was a pack. According to the scientists, often carnivorous dinosaur described as a dinosaurs, living alone and devouring everything in its path, but these findings put these types of performances into question.
Most likely, at the dawn of its existence, the dinosaurs really were alone, the researchers add, however, during the Triassic and Jurassic period, some of them have developed a herd mentality, and Cretaceous representatives of many species to fully realize the benefits of living side by side with each other. Proof of this can serve the fact that most of the evidence for the existence of “swarms” of dinosaurs is the late period of their existence, although scientists recognize that this may be due to the fact that the remains belonging to the Chalk, simply survived more because of their relative “youth”.
