Putin wished the Prime Minister of Iraq good luck in the liberation of Mosul


The President of Russia Vladimir Putin held telephone talks with Prime Minister of Iraq, Haider Jawad al-Abadi on the situation in Syria.

As reported in the Kremlin, Putin wished success to the Iraqi army and its allies in the operation to liberate Mosul from the militants (banned in Russia) Islamic state and expressed support for the efforts of the Iraqi authorities to eradicate the hotbed of international terrorism.

The parties also expressed mutual intention to continue joint work on all aspects of the Syrian settlement, the report said.
