- Japan has denied the information about the change of approach to the Kuril question
The representative of the Japanese foreign Ministry said that the authorities did not change position in relation to talks on the South Kuril Islands and conclude a peace Treaty with Russia.
Earlier it was reported that Japan may change its claims to 4 South Kuril Islands, limiting it only to two. The diplomat noted that the information is untrue.
“Our country’s position has not changed: we support the decision of the question of ownership of all of the four Northern Islands and concluding on the basis of the peace Treaty,” he said.
