A series of suicide attacks was a response to large-scale security operation to liberate Mosul, which began on the eve of the Iraqi army and Kurdish militias. Obviously, the militants of the “Islamic state” show that they do not intend so simply to surrender the city.
The first incident occurred near the village of Bilavet East of Mosul. A suicide bomber driving bomb cars, was chosen as the target of one of the Iraqi tanks.
The second incident occurred in the village of Sheikh Amir. There, a suicide bomber tried to RAM the car in which there were the journalists and the fighters of the Kurdish militia. They stopped the attack, firing at the car of the gunman, reports RIA Novosti.
Mosul is a stronghold of militants in 2014, however, the Iraqi authorities intend to regain control over it. In the operation to liberate the city attended by about 80 thousand people. They are opposed by the 3-4,5 thousand Islamists.
