Russian blogger Zhuravlev returned to Russia from Syrian captivity

On Friday, the press service of the FSB of the Russian Federation and the Russian foreign Ministry issued a message on the return to Russia of the blogger Konstantin Zhuravlev, who spent three years in captivity of militants in Syria.

Zhuravlev was captured in October 2013 in Northern Syria. First, it wanted to execute, but then decided to exchange. Russian TV showed a video in which Zhuravlev said that he was treated well, but emphasizes that every person wants freedom.

After the necessary procedural actions with the participation of the FSB crane were handed over to relatives.

Soon he returns to his small home to Tomsk.

It is known that Zhuravleva kept the militants groups “Liwa al-Tawhid”, which accused him of spying for Damascus.

Zhuravlev arrived in Syria informally, but the Syrian authorities did everything possible for his release.
