India and Russia agreed on the delivery of s-400, construction of frigate and helicopters

Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Prime Minister Narendra modi, in which signed a number of agreements, including on deliveries of modern weapons.

On Saturday Vladimir Putin has arrived in Goa. After a four-hour delay in Mumbai due to fog, the Russian leader met with the Prime Minister of India Narendra modi.

In the bilateral talks, Putin and modi not only launched the second unit of NPP “Kudankulam” (videoconference), but also agreed on further cooperation in the development of nuclear power, reports the website of the Russian President.

As recalled by RIA Novosti, based on the new NPP construction on Russian project of power units with reactors VVER-1000 with an installed capacity of 1000 MW, which meets all modern requirements.

The two sides also signed a number of arms contracts. In particular, on deliveries to India of the Russian s-400.

Putin and modi have agreed on joint construction of ships of project 11356 in Russia and in India, and also signed an agreement to establish a joint venture to manufacture the KA-226T. “These projects — a new Chapter in the long history of defence cooperation between the two countries,” said Indian Prime Minister.

In addition, as Putin said, Russia and India have agreed on joint production of passenger aircraft and the production of licensed civil aircraft — Sukhoi Superjet 100.

Vladimir Putin and Narendra modi and said the decision on negotiations on creation of free trade area between India and the Eurasian economic Union (EEU). They are expected to begin in December.

Also concluded important contracts with Russian and Indian companies. In particular, signed a Memorandum of understanding between “Roskosmos” and the Indian space research organization for the placement of ground stations collecting measurements of the Russian GLONASS satellite constellation of the Indian Navik.

The head of VTB Andrey Kostin in turn, said that the Bank will provide the Indian Essar group’s $3.9 billion debt restructuring. “This is the largest investment in the history of India,” he said.

The head of RDIF Kirill Dmitriev spoke about the signing of the National Indian Infrastructure Fund agreement for the establishment of a Fund of 1 billion dollars for investment in projects in India – 500 million dollars each.
