Anna Netrebko rocked the acoustics of the Bolshoi theatre

…Unusual, wildly exuberant pandemonium press at the entrance – a sure sign that somewhere behind the scenes hiding Diva – superstar Opera scene Anna Netrebko. Great Oct 16, gives his version of “Manon Lescaut” directed by Director Adolf Shapiro (the conductor – Cores Benjamini). In fact, the Bolshoi theatre does not hide that the project was “due to the determined leadership” to invite Anna to perform on the historical stage. Well, in the role of Chevalier Rene de Grieux will perform Yusif Eyvazov.

HELP “MK”

Giacomo Puccini wrote 12 operas in my life, and “Manon Lescaut” – the third account (painfully created in the period 1890-92.) it never failed to show his talent as a lyric Puccini and melodist. “My Manon – Italian, passion and despair,” wrote the composer, comparing his heroine with the French Manon from Massenet’s Opera of the same name.

…Anna appeared in a simple black suit with white point, lavishing smiles.

This is a very important work for us, – said General Director of theatre Vladimir urin – a year ago we agreed with Anna and Yusif, what are we going to do this project, it was not in the plans of the theatre. Yesterday was the run, already aware that we’ve done there, I hope it will be of interest….

Anna then picks up:

– A great honor for me to be here, it’s a great theatre, the work was wonderful, the setting is very interesting; the Director was patient with us, and the conductor was working in difficult conditions, because the orchestra and choir for the first time saw the score.

– I can only endorse the words of the prima Donna, – said Yusif Eyvazov, the team debugged as hours, people are there to help. The mass of impressions.

…It should be noted that this is the debut drama directed by Adolf Shapiro at the Bolshoi theatre; he noted that he felt comfortable working with Oranim and soloists, “this is interesting: always talk-talk-talk, and sing and sing about love.” All the musicians said that Shapiro was always open to new ideas, and expressed confidence that the formulation was able to withstand the language of Puccini.

Is one of my favorite operas of Puccini, strong and dramatic, especially when I have such a strong and passionate partner – continues Anna. Manon — first of all woman no matter who she nationality, matter what emotions it causes in men – strong and passionate. Alive this Opera is rarely performed, good formulation is difficult to make: the plot is so broken, something even more abstract…

– This show really means a lot to us, – says Yusif, and I just have tears streaming from my eyes, when I heard Anya in the fourth act… for a second I really thought we were in the desert and this is the last moments of life.

Image very solid, – says Anna – you can only add in the details, or to make Manon the more experienced from the start or innocent. Well, if I don’t like the interpretation of the Director, I was just leaving… but it was all very good. Although acoustics is very difficult for the singers standing on stage. The sound is not refundable. The first two days it was a shock, and then we somehow got used.

– We must sing with your voice and pray that this will be enough – said Yusif.

By the way, Anna and Yusif met in Rome on the production of “Manon Lescaut”.

– I knew that there was such a star, but didn’t give it much thought, but when I heard her sing, and even realized she was sick in the head people, no drama… and that’s rare in the Opera world. And I fell in love. So we invite everyone to the premiere!

In addition to participating in “Manon Lescaut”, 7 February 2018 it is planned a solo concert of Anna Netrebko with Spivakov at the console.
