Bashar Assad: in the air there is the smell of a Third world war

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad expressed the view that the United States has not stopped the Cold war even after the collapse of the USSR, and since this process develops. In an interview with “Komsomolskaya Pravda” the Syrian leader said that the US goal is the desire to preserve its hegemony over the world.

“So that’s the smell of war, which you describe as the Third world war, felt in the air,” – said Assad. According to him, the conflict has political, terrorist and military components, but not yet escalated into direct military confrontation. The Syrian conflict is merely part of this overall process, said Assad.
