Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said in a media interview that the United States and Russia have reached open confrontation. In his opinion, this suggests that we stand on the threshold of regional or even world war.
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus participated in the roundtable organized by the Turkish Agency Anadolu. Answering the question about the situation in Syria, he noted that any war waged by the hands of the third, comes to an end. And now in Syria, there has been exactly such a situation – over the limit when fighting others. Now “USA and Russia have already came to open confrontation,” said Kurtulmus.
He then added that in his opinion this means that we are “on the verge of a regional or world war.”
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister noted that Syria belongs to Syrians and Turkey is not going to teach them how to run the country. But in his opinion this should not make neither the Assad regime nor the Americans, nor Russia, nor Iran. “This decision should be taken by the Syrian people,” said Kurtulmus.
Speaking separately on U.S. policy in the middle East Kurtulmus said that he did not think that everything that happens is “the result of a long-term plan”. He expressed the opinion that Americans are now “desperate”.
