NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg commented on the transfer of Russian missile complexes “Iskander-M”, equipped with nuclear warheads, in Kaliningrad oblast. According to him, such actions are quite consistent with the line of conduct which recently demonstrated RF – what more can you expect from the “aggressor”.
“The Russians now place the “Iskander” in the Kaliningrad region near the Polish and Lithuanian borders. This is consistent with the behavior of the Kremlin, which we have seen for a long time”, – quotes NATO Secretary General RIA Novosti.
However, in spite of philosophical reactions, Stoltenberg promised that this situation will not remain without attention of the Alliance, and the question about the “Iskander” will be discussed separately by the Ministers of countries-members of NATO.
And the Minister of defence of Sweden Peter Hultqvist called the transfer of missiles a provocation.
“We believe the recent actions of the Russian Federation on the transfer of missile complexes “Iskander” provocative signal, especially if we are talking about a possible nuclear weapons. This negatively affects all the countries of the Baltic sea”, – quotes its words of life.ru.
For its part, the Ministry of defense of Russia surprised “breaking news” about the transfer of Russian missiles, stating that it had done this many times before, under various exercises, but one is so much bothered.
“Currently, transportation of the missile complex “Iskander” held in the framework of improving combat training of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation”, – explained the official representative of the Ministry of defense of Russia Igor Konashenkov.
