During Putin’s visit to Paris scheduled for October 19, the parties planned to discuss the situation in Syria and Ukraine. However, French President Francois Hollande admitted that “asks” whether or not to take the President of Russia. According to Hollande, if the meeting does take place, he said to Putin that support for Bashar al-Assad “harms the image of Russia”.

About their doubts as to rendezvous with the Russian head of state, Hollande told journalists, live French TV channel TMC. The main argument for rejecting the meeting with Putin, Hollande called the Kremlin’s unwillingness to abandon support for Syrian authorities and President Bashar al-Assad.
Note that last Saturday, Russia vetoed the adoption of the UN Security Council French resolution calling for an end to flights of military aircraft over Aleppo. A few hours before Hollande made a statement that if one of the permanent members of the security Council will block the resolution, it discreditied this country and make it responsible for the continued bloodshed.
