The UN security Council on Saturday failed to adopt a resolution on Aleppo. First, Russia has blocked a Franco-Spanish draft document, and then presented their project which has not obtained the approval of a majority of the members. At the same time Russia for the fifth time enjoys the right of veto blocking a resolution on Syria.
The first project involved the creation of a no-fly zone over Aleppo. Russia has opposed since it was proposed to make this area not only over the Eastern part, but also over the West, which is exposed to attacks of insurgents from the East. In addition, the resolution didn’t clarify whether this measure of reconnaissance drones.
Following the meeting, foreign Minister of France Jean-Marc Ayrault during a conversation with journalists has once again raised the issue of the limitation of the veto. He stressed that now in Paris as ever convinced of the need for such measures.
