The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the program “Sunday time” on “the First channel” declared that today the policy of the US is Russophobia and this is a fundamental change in the relations between Moscow and Washington. He stressed that it is not just about rhetoric, but about the aggressive steps that really hurt the national interests of Russia and threaten the security, reports “Interfax”.

Lavrov has listed the steps of the United States, which in his opinion threaten Russia: it is the approach of NATO infrastructure to Russian borders; us to deploy heavy weapons in Eastern Europe; the deployment of NATO air and ABOUT the borders of Russia and allies of Russia; sanctions, as a manifestation of hostile action.

Separately, Lavrov said that according to “leaks”, the United States intends to bomb the airfields of the Syrian air force. Such actions of Washington he called a “very dangerous game”, given that in Syria there are Russian military at the invitation of the legitimate government and there are two bases, respectively, and air defenses to protect them.

The foreign Minister also noted that Russia had long exercised “strategic patience” regarding action of Washington and pointed out that the deterioration of relations with the US began long before the events in Ukraine.

In General, says Lavrov, the leaders of the West became more negative attitude towards Russia. And in some Western capitals allow themselves to insulting epithets addressed to the Russian President Vladimir Putin, and even compete to see “who will surpass”.
